In Their Own Words

Amidst the din of media coverage on the war and - to a lesser degree - the refugee crisis, one rarely hears the voices of the Iraqis themselves.  Here, then, are three Iraqis' unfiltered testimonies: their stories of hope when the United States-led coalition arrived, the tragedies that befell them as a result of their affiliation with the U.S., and the dire circumstances so many of them presently endure.  One is currently a refugee in Syria, another displaced within Iraq, a third successfully resettled to the U.S.  Their stories represent a mere glimpse into the profound suffering of Iraqis on the List.  We hope to continually expand this section of the site, allowing more Iraqis on the List to describe what they are going through in their own words.
