About Zeba Khan, Strategic Initiatives Director

In her capacity as Strategic Initiatives Director, Zeba Khan leads the List Project's efforts in three key initiatives:
* Netroots, the List Project’s rapidly-growing social platform for its volunteers and chapters to take ownership on the issue
* The List Kids, a spinoff project of TLP, where she serves as an advisor to director Sky Choi
* The Integration Support Fund, in development, which would provide a micro-lending service to successfully-resettled Iraqi refugees
Prior to her work with the List Project, Zeba studied Arabic in Yemen on a Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State. She also was a summer fellow with the Middle East team in the Office of Terrorist Finance and Financial Crimes at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. From 2003-2004, Zeba conducted field research on women in the public sphere as a Fulbright Scholar in Syria.
Zeba holds a M.A. in Development Economics and Conflict Resolution from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of PRAXIS: The Fletcher Journal of Human Security. She also holds a joint M.A./B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago.
Zeba has lived in Syria and Yemen, worked on the issue of youth empowerment in refugee camps in Lebanon, and has conducted research and/or traveled to many other countries in the region including Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, and the U.A.E. Zeba speaks Arabic, Spanish, and Hebrew.
